Explain Tetra valancey of carbon?

carbon is 4 valence electrons . in order to gain stability it must attain octet configuration. the electrons are very closely bonded with the nucleus and it cannot lose electrons. so it attains tetravalency and shares electrons with other carbon atoms to get octet configuration and attain stability. hence carbon is tetravalent.

mean carbon is a tetravalent element , as cabon has four electrons in it's outrmost shell.

so, cabron can make four bonds with same , as well as different elements.
so, due to this great bond Making properies ams small size , carbon shows a property called CATINATION.
DUE TO WHICH CARBON MAKES A LARGE NUMBER OF COMPOUNDS.
