Anti-elimination is faster than syn-elimination because in anti-elimination, the base reacting attacks β-Hydrogen on the opposite side of the leaving group. In syn-elimination, β-Hydrogen is attacked on the leaving group side.

Since in anti-elimination, the attack takes place on the opposite end, the reaction rate is faster as compared to syn-elimination. Also in anti-elimination, the carbon-carbon bond is staggered as opposed to being eclipsed in the syn-elimination.
