inversion of temperature is basically a phenomenon by which with increase of altitude the temperature also increases and to have such phenomenon there are same favorable conditions:-
which are the area should be mountain valley,the climate should be calm and quiet and the sky should be clear...ETC

oh and one more due to the hot wind also known as loo in India have low pressure which results in forming a layer similar to the layer of the atmosphere which causes increase of temperature with increase of height
