Answer:

Explanation: Baji Rao I (18 August 1700 – 28 April 1740) was a general of the Maratha Empire in India. He served as the Peshwa to the 4th Maratha Chhatrapati (Emperor) Shahu from 1720 until his death. Bajirao was Peshwa in the Ashta Pradhan (8-minister council) of Shahu. He is also known by the name Bajirao Ballad. He is the person who expanded the Maratha Territory from 3/4th of present day Kannada to Delhi. His empire included the territories of Vizarat(present-day Gujarat), Malwa,Bundelkhand,Gondwana, Rajpootana, Maharasthra, Bijapur and lastly Delhi. He is noted to have not lost a single battle out of the 41 battles which he fought.Grant Duff the Maratha historian says " Bred a soldier as well as a statesman, Bajirao united the enterprise, vigour and hardihood of a Maratha chief with the polished manners, the sagacity and address which frequently distinguish the Brahmins of the Konkan.  Fully acquainted with the financial schemes of his father, he selected that part of the plan calculated to direct the predatory hordes of Maharashtra in a common effort.  In this respect, the genius of Bajirao enlarged the schemes which his father devised; and unlike most Brahmins, of him it may be truly said- he had both- the head to plan and the hand to execute.”

Malwa (1723), Dhar (1724), Aurangabad (1724), Battle of Palkhed (1728), Firozabad (1737), Delhi (1737), Bhopal (1738) and Battle of Vasai (1739) were some of the major battles won by Bajirao. Rightly said by Jadunath Sarkar (a Mughal historian) "“Two Personalities loom large in the history of the Marathas, Shivaji the founder of the independent Maratha Power and Peshwa Bajirao I, the founder of their empire.”

This was the Maratha Empire under Bajirao Ballad. The orange coloured is the Marathas, the Dark-green coloured is Moghuls. Grey is Nadir Shah's empire. Blue is Nizam. Light Green is the Mysore state. Pink colour is local tribal rulers and Yellow colour is Nepali kingdom.
