Explain the action of soaps in removing an oily spot from a piece of cloth

soap has two ends,polar and non polar. The polar end is attracted towards water and gets dissolved in it. while the non polar is attracted by hydro carbons and not by water. so the no polar end attaches it self with dirt and gets it removed from the cloth.
