The adaptations in the body of fishes are :
1. For adapting themselves according to the situations prevailing in their surroundings, the fishes have evolved with structures like gills, fins and air bladders.
2. The structure called gills helps the fishes to take in oxygen and air bladders helps them to float on the water. The fins helps them to move or to swim.
3. The class Chondrichthyes of fishes did not have air bladder in them so that the fishes of this class had to constantly keep on swimming to avoid sinking.
4. Later on, the class Osteichthyes evolved and had air bladder in them. This helped them to swim on water.
