hello ... Apartheid. Apartheid was a political and social system in South Africa while it was under white minority rule. ... The word apartheid means "apartness" in Afrikaans. Racial segregation had been used for centuries but when the new policy started in 1948 it was strict and more systematic. thanks

Apartheid is a system of indiscrimination that was followed by the colonial govt with the blacks and the coloured people of South Africa.
Under this system coloured people (included black ones also) were not allowed to use the place which were used by the whites like school, beaches and parks.
If someone was found not following these rules were severely punished.
A. N. C (African national Congress)
under leadership of Nelson Mandela fight against this unjustics for equality.
After the success of revolt the formation of new govt took place which was democratic this time and in which people of all culture, colour and class were allowed.
