x= 2 + √3

 \frac{1}{x} =  \frac{1}{2 +  \sqrt{3} } }

by Rationalization,

 \frac{1}{x}  =  \frac{1}{2 +  \sqrt{3} } × \frac{2 - \sqrt{3} }{2- \sqrt{3}  }



 \frac{1}{x} =  \frac{2- \sqrt{3}  }{2^2 - (\sqrt{3})^2 }


 \frac{1}{x} =  \frac{2 -  \sqrt{3}  }{2-3} =  \frac{2- \sqrt{3} }{-1} =  \frac{  \sqrt{3} -2}{1}

1/x = √3 -2
________________________
x - 1/x 

(2+√3) - (√3 -2)

2 + √3 -√3 + 2
