Answer:
Electric bulb is an electrical instrument which works on heating effect of electric current.
Explanation:
1. In an electric bulb, a filament of metal such as tungsten with melting point ( 3410 °C ) is used.
2. As soon as the electric current is passed through the filament, it becomes hot and emits light.
3. Along with the metal filament, there are also some gases in an electric bulb such as nitrogen and argon.
4. Due to presence of these gases, the oxidation of metal filament is avoided and thereby the bulb can be used for a longer time.
