The powers of the Governor:
1. The Governor of any state has executive powers of the state. [Article 154 (1)]
2. There is no need of paying rents to official residences of the Governor, and also be entitled with emoluments, allowances and privileges, determined by law. [Article 158 (3)]
3. The Governor can grant pardons, reprieves, respites or remissions of punishment or to suspend, remit or commute the sentence of any person convicted of any offence. [Article 161]
4. The Governor has to appoint a qualified Judge of the High Court to be Advocate-General for the State. [Article 165 (1)]
