The Bolshevik party ordered redistribution of land which led to the army falling. Mostly soldiers who were peasants wanted to be with their families for the event. During this time, the non-Bolsheviks moved to the south if Russia. These groups majorly included the 'greens' which were the socialists and the 'whites' who were Pro-Tsarists. The Bolshevik party was denoted by red.

The non-Bolshevik had the support of UK, USA, France and Japanese troops too. This way the civil war was fought. During this time, looting, banditary and famine became common.
