The nucleus contains chromosomes which are visible as rod shaped structures. Chromosomes contain information for Inheritance of features from parents to next generation in form of DNA molecules. Chromosomes are composed of DNA and protein.

In the nucleus chromatin fibres are present which are visible as thread shaped structure . They further develop into chromosomes which are visible as rod shaped structure. They contain genes ( characteristic material) which helps in transferring of characteristics from parents to their offspring’s.
