The Little Green Orchard is a

poem that describes a little girl’s feelings. She feels that there is someone in

the orchard whom she cannot see. Even as the sun is high up in the sky and the

bees are moving from rose to rose looking for honey, she feels that there is a

shadow in the orchard. As twilight falls, the girl claims to hear voices

speaking softly.

However, the girl claims that all these do not scare her and refrain her from being there. However, it is definitely strange that someone should be spending his/her time watching and waiting in the orchard even after the day is over.
