The characteristics of Amazon plains
- Most of the Amazon plains are covered by Rainforest. Due to dense extensive evergreen forest line plant and animal growth is comparatively higher. Despite the sunlight reaching the ground, it is dark damp which allows only shade-tolerant vegetation to grow.
- The climate is hot and humid. The nutrient-rich silt soil enables dry season agriculture of rice. Fertilizer addition is not required for beans or other corns. The slash and burn method is applied to the higher plains.
- Biodiversity is enriched. Coniferous forests are the second-largest followed by the evergreens.
