Explain the circumstance which led to declaration of emergency in 1975

emergency was declared in 25th June 1975 by the then prime minister, Indira Gandhi and was officially issued by the then President, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed. there are several reasons and factors which forced the PM to declare emergency. they are:-
- 1971 war:- in the year 1971 India- Bangladesh war occurred. Pakistan was dominating in a negative manner in affairs of Bangladesh (then East Pakistan). India voiced against the aggression of Pakistan. the war hampered the GDP growth of India and deteriorated the economy.
- Drought and Famine:- In the 1960s India faced severe drought problems which affected the cultivation ultimately pushing farmers towards poverty.
- Unemployment and Poverty:- The Congress government came to power after declaring it would end poverty and provide employment that proved to be wrong.
- abolishing privy purse:- Ms. Gandhi abolished privy purse which gave special rights to the kings of the princely states.
- massive unrest in the youth and the workers specially in the railway sector.
