A compound made up of hydrogen and carbon is called hydrocarbon. (hydrogen +carbon= hydrocarbon) example : Methane (C2H6), ethene (C2H2)etc. The most important natural sorce of hydrocarbon is petroleum or crude oil.

TYPES:-
1. saturated hydrocarbon (Alkanes)
2. unsaturated hydrocarbon(Akenes and Alludes)
