Answer: Blood is mainly made up of 2 things, Plasma and blood corpuscles.

  • Plasma constitutes 50-55% of the blood. It is a yellow fluid medium which contains proteins such as Fibrinogen, Globulins and Albumin
  • Blood corpuscles are further divided into 3 parts:
  1. Erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells (RBCs) which contains Haemoglobin which helps in the transport of food and oxygen.
  2. Thrombocytes or Platelets which help in blood clotting in case of any rupture in the blood vessels
  3. Leucocytes Or White Blood Cells (WBCs) which helps in the defence mechanism or the immune system of the body.
