Answer: Blood is mainly made up of 2 things, Plasma and blood corpuscles.
- Plasma constitutes 50-55% of the blood. It is a yellow fluid medium which contains proteins such as Fibrinogen, Globulins and Albumin
- Blood corpuscles are further divided into 3 parts:
- Erythrocytes or Red Blood Cells (RBCs) which contains Haemoglobin which helps in the transport of food and oxygen.
- Thrombocytes or Platelets which help in blood clotting in case of any rupture in the blood vessels
- Leucocytes Or White Blood Cells (WBCs) which helps in the defence mechanism or the immune system of the body.
