Answer:

The interior of the earth is composed of concentric layers like that of an onion.

There are 3 primary layers

1.Crust

2.Mantle

3.Core

1.The crust is the uppermost and the thinnest layer of earth that forms only 1% of the earth's volume. It is 35km deep at the continental mass and only 5km deep at the ocean bed.It can oceanic crust or continental crust.

2.The mantle is the thickest layer of the earth extending 2900km below the crust and making up 84% of the earth's volume.

3.The innermost layer is the core with a radius of 3500km and makes 15% of the earth's volume. It has metals in it as molten forms as the core remains in high temperature and pressure always.
