Explain the composition of the local government at the rural and urban level of india

The rural local government is popularly known as panchayati Raj. It consists of gram panchayat samiti and zila parishad . All the panchayat samities in a district constitute zila parishad,whose members are elected . Urban local government implies the government of an urban area by the people through their elected representatives 74th constitutional amendment act ,1992 provided constitutional status to local urban bodies
