Explain the concept kaizen and its implications.

After the second world war the Japanese companies introduced a new concept which followed continuous improvement and was called as Kaizen. The concept of Kaizen is very simple distance between it involves continuous improvement and proper cooperation. The impact of implementing this new concept was there where is zero defects in the output of the companies is nothing but profit maximization.

Kaizen is a Japanese word which means improvement. 'Kai' means change and 'zen' means good. It refers to activities which continuously improve all functions and involve all the employees from the assembly line workers to the CEO. It aims to eliminate waste by improving standardized programmes and processes. It has been applied in government, banking, life-coaching, psychotherapy, healthcare and other industries. 

Kaizen describes a company culture where everyone evaluates his work regularly and thinks of ways to improve it. The improvements are suggested by the person who is doing the work and not by some evaluation team from outside.

It means that if small steps are taken on a regular basis they can lead to large improvements in the course of time. So Kaizen is a slow but ongoing process of improvement.
