The development and concentration of industries in a region is a factor which contributing towards urbanisation.
Increase in industries leads to increase in the hope of the people who are attracted towards these industries from surroundings areas.
This increases the speed of urbanisation.In the 19th century,Mumbai grew rapidly and there is only one reason because textile mills started on a large scale in Mumbai.
As a result,many villages which were originally know for fishing villages,became part of Mumbai metropolitan area because of industrialisation.
