The source of magnetism is actually a motion of charges in a current carrying coil...When charge Moves in a circle..ultimately two poles are forms which are called South and North pole...if there is no motion..no poles will be there...
When charges moves in a circle they actually form a Dipole moment i.e, Magnetic Dipole moment...which is actually a vector quantity whose direction is taken from South pole to North pole...This Dipole Moment created only due to motion of charge particles in a circle...Here this dipole moment due to the motion in a coil is nothing just efectiveness of magnet...

This theory suggests that most of thing we see around us is magnetic in nature..even electrons are found in our body..we are too magnetic in nature...There is a proof of this statement....

As every thing is made up of atoms and Inside the atoms electrons revolve around the nuclous...As electron is a charge and it moves in a circle...so its must have magnet moment...for the proof see snap...

In snap you will see the quantity called L = mvr angular momentum...this is what actually responsible to create magnetic moment...here L is a vector quantity and its direction is normal to the plane of vector r and v.....Hope this help...
