There are many consequences of growing population on water resources. More people consume water hence the storage of pure water will reduce. There is only 0.001% pure water is available on earth.

an area having ample water reaources still face water scarcity because the area may have water that is unfit for consumption. It may be polluted by agricultural waste,  pesticides,  fertilisers and industrial effluents. The growing population is exerting demand on the fresh water sources leading to its shortage.
