Glucose and fructose are monosaccharide carbohydrates and they both have six carbon ring i.e. they are hexose sugars. Glucose is an aldohexose having aldehyde functional group in its structure and fructose is ketohexose sugar having ketonic functional group in its structure. Glucose make a six sided pyaranose ring and fructose make a five sided furan ring. Anomeric carbon in glucose is first while in fructose it is second carbon.
