Paste is a feature that lets users cut or copy items from a document and transfer them to another. Paste Special allows the items being transferred to be formatted in several different ways. Paste Special is a feature found in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice.

Answer:

The difference between paste and paste special is as follows:

When we want same content i.e. text, pic, video, files etc. at some another location i.e if we want same pic in two different folders, paste is used for that. In this scenario, we copy that pic from one folder and paste it in another folder. Same way if we want to remove the pic from parent folder & want to transfer/store it in another folder, we can cut the pic & paste it using “ctrl + V” in the required folder.

When we paste the text using “ctrl + V”, format of the text remains the same but alignment may differ.

Whereas when we use Paste special using “ctrl + Alt + V”, a dialog box opens which has so many options like paste in formatted text or in unformatted text or in image or in HTML format.
