soap:-
1) soaps are the sodium or Potassium salts of long chain carboxylic acid
2) ionic group:- coo- na+
3) prepare from vegetable oil or animal fat
4) soaps can not be used for washing in hard water.
5) do not cause water pollution
detergent:-
1) detergent are the sulphonate salts of long chain carboxylic acid
2) ionic group:- so3- na+
3) made from hydrocarbon from coal and petroleum
4) can be used for washing even in hard water.
5) cause water pollution
