explain the different form of precipitation
Answers
Answer:The main forms of precipitation include drizzle, rain, sleet, snow, graupel and hail. Precipitation occurs when a portion of the atmosphere becomes saturated with water vapor, so that the water condenses and “precipitates.
Precipitation is the process by which the condensed water vapour falls to the ground in various forms such as rainfall, snowfall, and others.
✨Forms of precipitation ✨
Precipitation occurs only when the tiny particles of water in the cloud merge together and
grow into large-sized particles or rain droplets.

♦Rain
Millions of cloud particles coalesce to form a rain drop which becomes too heavy to remain in suspension in the cloud.
Such drops fall down due to their weight. Rain drops of smaller size are called drizzle, while large sized particles fall down as rainfall.
♦Snow
Snow is a powdery mass which floats in the air and settles down gradually on the ground.
Snowfall usually occurs in winter in the middle and high latitudes and in the high mountain regions.
♦Hail
In places where there are strong vertical currents of Air, the ice particles are pushed upwards. They grow to a large size and fall as rounded particles of the solid ice. This form of precipitation is called hail.
The large ice particles which fall down are called hailstones due to their size and weight. Hailstones cause damage to standing crops and houses. Hail is generally associated with thunderstorms.
