★ Types of manures :-
- Farmyard manure

- Vermicompost
★ Farmyard manure :-
(FYM)
Good quality farmyard manure consists of mixture of cattle dung & crop residue ( remnants of straw & plant stalks fed to cattle). A well composed FYM bears about 0.5% N, 0.2% & 0.5% . It is most valuable organic matter added to soil .
★ Compost manure :-
It mainly consists of rotted vegetable & animal refuse.
★ Green manure :-
It preparing green manure a quick crop is cultivated and ploughed under to incorporate into the soil. Legumes have the capability of fixing nitrogen from the air with the help of nodulated bacteria . e.g. Sunnhemp (Crotalaria juncea), dhainacha (Sesbania aculeate) & guar (Chamopsis tetagonoloba).
★ Vermicompost :-
It is the breaking down of organic material through the use of worms. The end product of vermicomposting is a substance called vermicompost or "worm castings". This is a nutrient rich organic substance that can be added to soil to increase it's organic matter content and available nutrients.
