Tere is two types of fishes; one is herbivorous and another carnivorous and the digestive system of both are different.
* The typical digestive system starts from the mouth, followed by pharynx, followed by, esophagus then Gizzard, Stomach, followed by intestines and finally rectum.
* Many herbivorous fishes lack stomach, but, they rely on elongated midgut area. Carnivorous fishes have stomach or foregut for digestion.

In most predacious fishes it is a simple straight or curved tube or pouch with a muscular wall and a glandular lining. Food is largely digested there and leaves the stomach in liquid form. Between the stomach and the intestine, ducts enter the digestive tube from the liver and pancreas.
