Salinity is calculated ratio of the weight of the dissolved materials to the weight of the sample sea water.
There is a vivid variation in the spatial distribution of salinity within the sea.
Here, evaporation is high due to high temperatures and low precipitation.
We find water of high salinity at the equator, but salinities here are slightly lower than the tropics of cancer and Capricorn due to the abundance of precipitation that falls at the equator.
