DOUBLE CIRCULATION

Double circulation is the passage of same blood twice through the heart.Once on the right side and then on the left side in order to complete one cycle.

COMPONENTS OF DOUBLE CIRCULATION

•Pulmonary Circulation -

Circulation of deoxygenated blood from right ventricle to lunga via pulmonary arteries and returning back of oxygenated blood to left auricle via pulmonary veins is called pulmonary circulation.

•Systemic Circulation -

Circulation of oxygenated blood to the entire body via aorta and returning back of deoxygenated blood to right auricle by Vena cava is called systemic circulation.

SIGNIFICANCE OF DOUBLE CIRCULATION

Double circulation occur in four chambered heart and helps in quick transport of oxygenated blood to body parts. Thus helping to fulfill their high energy demands. It also helps in thermoregulation of body in mammals and birds full stop it supplies the whole of deoxygenated blood directly to the lungs.
