Kamla Das's poem are a representation of her human consciousness. Her poems deal much while describing her personal life and her desires. In the poem "The Forest Fire" the poet compares herself to the forest fire. She says that as the forest fire spares nothing and no one in its rage, so does the poet.

Answer:

Forest Fire, a poem by Kamala Das, speaks directly about the poet's thirst for sensory input and for taking in, soaking up, all of the events and sights around her. She 'eats' and swallows them with reckless abandon until they become a part of her.

Her drive to write creates a craving within her that is like a fire. Later, she will take all of her experiences and write something, 'giving birth to it, but the kid will be in the arms of various people in many other towns. So, the creative 'fire' as the poet's inspiration and desire to create, and the generated product as a kid, are the symbolism.
