The Following were the effects of non - cooperation movement on the economy of India:-
- The import of foreign clothes halved between 1921 and 1922, its value dropped from 102 crore to 57 crore rupees.
- As the boycott movement spread, people used only Indian clothes and began to discard foreign clothes. As a result, production of Indian textile mills and hand-loom went up largely.
- Foreign goods were boycotted, liquor shops picketed , and foreign clothes were burnt hugely.
