Species provide a variety of functions and help maintain relatively stable ecosystems. Our understanding of the functioning of biodiversity within ecosystems needs to be improved. The information on the status and trends of biodiversity allows for patterns to be identified as well as to determine the consequences of biodiversity loss.

I don't want to give your answer in breif but i can tell u that flora and fauna are inter related and pollution have a great effect on them pollution damage the ozone layer in the atmosphere by which the ultravoilent rays falls on the earth which can cause many diseases and can cause many harm to Flora and fauna.
