causes of french revolution:-
1. anarchy and royal absolutism- the french ruling dynasty was absolute and had complete powers, nobody could question the royal orders and this led to anarchy in france.
2.wide gap among economic classes-the french society was divied among 3 distinct economic classes i.e.1st estate (clergy)
2nd estate (royal classes)
3rd estate (buisnessmen, peasants, workers etc...)
the first 2 estaes comprised of 5% of the total population but owned 95% of total resources whereas 95% of the population that was the 3rd estae only owned 5% of the total resources
3.evergrowing econommic burden- the ing louis sixteen levvied taxes which exploited the french people in every way. these evergrowing taxes were neede by the king to wage wars.
4. the impact of philosphers and political scientists- many philosphers such as J.J.Rousseau, Waltaire, Thomas Hobbs wrote books against the autocratic rule of king louis sixteen and inspired the people to stand against it.
5.inspiration from global events- inspiration from global eventssuch as magna carta (1215), glorious revolution(1688) etc. made frnch people realize yhe importance of democracy and thus they wanted to have the same in france.
