the Indigo cultivation started in India during the British rule , they force the farmers to grow indigo and then export it to Britain for the dying purpose . but because of this the land in which they are grown become waste

Explanation:
In this system, the planter produced indigo on those lands that were supposed to be under his direct control. Either the planter purchased the land or rented it from other Zamindars. He employed laborers to generate indigo. Indigo could be cultivated on fertile lands. However, these areas were densely populated and so, only tiny pots could be acquired. This further made it quite intricate to diversify the area under nij cultivation.
