following factors effect the gravitational acceleration of earth ;

  • Shape of Earth : As we know earth is bulgy , it's not of compeletly spherical shape . so , The value of gravitation is maximum at equator (9.83 m/s^2) . And towards polar region its minimum ( 9.78m/s^2).
  • Altitude : As height over the earth increases the gravity decreases it varies with a value of 1/ (R + h)^2 .
  • Depth : In the inetrior the earth on an average gravity is less as compared on the surface of the earth . so as you go deeper and deeper to the earth , the gravity keeps on decreasing and decreasing and finally it comes to 0 at centre of the earth .
