explain the factors of speciation
Answers
Answer:
Speciation is the formation of new and distinct species in the course of evolution. 4 factors we can say that affects speciation are-
1.Environmental conditions
2.Geographical barriers and differences
3.Migration
4.Isolation
Well in case of asexually reproducing organisms, i think migration plays negligible role.
Speciation is of basically 4 types….
1. Allopatric type- occurs when a species separates into two separate groups which are isolated from one another by a physical barrier, it makes now impossible for them to breed with one another so each species develops differently based on the demands of their unique habitat Ex- Darwin finches
2. Peripatric type- When small groups of individuals break off from the larger group and form a new species
3. Parapatric type- in this, a species is spread out over a large geographic area. So it is possible for any member of the species to mate with another member now but individuals only mate with those in their own geographic region(vicinity). So here the differences of the same environment creates speciation
4. Sympatric type- A new species, perhaps based on a different food source or shelter seems to develop spontaneously. The theory is that some individuals become dependent on certain aspects of an environment such as shelter or food sources, while others do not.
