Answer:

latitude:

nearly half of India lies North and South of tropic of cancer. this decision leades to different climatic conditions. the north part of India experience sub-tropical climate while the south experiences tropical climate. therefore, India' has characteristics of tropical as well as sub-tropical climate.

Altitude:

in North of India, there are mountain ranges with average height of 6000m (approax) and a vast coastal area with average elevation of 30m. so, Himalayas prevent the cold winds from Central Asia from entering in the subcontinent.

because of these mountains subcontinent experience comparatively milder winter's as compared to Central Asia.

pressure and winds:

the climate is also affected by pressure and surface winds, upper air circulation , Western cyclonic disturbances and tropical cyclones.

India lies in the region of north easterly winds. originate from high pressure belt of northern hemisphere. they blow southwards and get selected to the right due to Coriolis force and then move towards the equatorial low pressure area.

distance from the sea:

the sea exerts a moderating influence on the climate. As the distance from the sea increases, the moderating influence decreases and people experience extreme weather conditions. this condition is known as continentality that is very hot during summer and very cold during winter.

currents:

ocean currents along with onshore winds affect the climate of the coastal areas. any coastal area with warm or cold currents flowing past it, will be warmed or cooled off the winds are onshore. (sorry, i don't know much about this one).

relief features:

relief plays a major role in determining the climate of a place. high mountains act as a barriers for cold or hot winds. they may also cause precipitation if they are high enough and lie in the path of rain bearing winds. [precipitation is and form of moisture which falls on the earth. it includes rain, snow and sleet].

hope it helps you armie..
