explain the feactures of DNA replication
Answers
Answer:DNA has three types of chemical component: phosphate, a sugar called deoxyribose, and four nitrogenous bases—adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. Two of the bases, adenine and guanine, have a double-ring structure characteristic of a type of chemical called a purine
Answer: The following features of DNA replication are :-
1.DNA a polymer made up of nucleotide monomers. A nucleotide is composed of a sugar (deoxyribose), a phosphate, and a purine or pyrimidine ring
2.The four nucleotides can pair with each other in specific ways: C with G and T with A.
3. Information in DNA is generally contained within discrete units called “genes”.
4. DNA is easily reproducible because of the pairing between nucleotides. The two resulting double-stranded DNA molecules are identical to each other, barring any mutations.
5. Because DNA is usually double-stranded, one strand can serve as a template for the other strand in the case of damage or mutation.
