Quit India Movement (1942) was organised in various cities. Slowly the movement reached the rural areas. The first response of the British was severe .

In 1943, as the movement gained further, there were armed attacks on government buildings in Madras and Bengal. By the end of 1943 over 90,000 people were arrested, and around 1,000 killed in police firing. This movement paved the way for India’s freedom. It awaken among Indians the feelings of bravery, enthusiasm and total sacrifice.

The quit India movement which was started by the father of our nation- -Mohandas Karamchand G-andhi who is popularly known as Mahatma G-andhi, (BAAPU) on 8 August,1942.This movement was started at the Mumbai,in Maharashtra.  The movement which was started by Mahatma g-andhi. for do the end of British rule in India and they really did end of British rule in India through this movement.
