A Slotter is a type of a reciprocating machine in which the work piece is held on the table and the tool that is held in the ram reciprocates vertically.
The different Feed Mechanisms that are used in the Slotter reciprocating machine are:
1. Circular Feed - The rotary table is circular and is usually mounted on the top of a cross slide and is rotated about a vertical axis which is parallel to the column.
2. Cross Feed – The cross slide is moved parallel to column’s face.
3. Longitudinal Feed – The saddle is moved either towards or away from the vertical column.
