the positive charges doesn't move and are at constant arrangement called lattice in metallic conductor and negative charges electrons will be moving the flow of electrons or ordered motion of electrons is called electric current.
when electrons moving in the metallic conductor they collide with lattice ions and lose energy and come to halt so the velocity or speed of electrons is very low hence it is called drift velocity
