1) The pressure exerted by a gas is due to the random motion of particles in the gas. Gases have weak intermolecular forces and the particles in continuous random motion and these particles collide with the walls of the container. These collisions with the walls of the container exerts pressure on the gas.
2) Evaporation causes cooling because the process requires heat energy. The energy is taken away by the molecules when they convert from liquid into gas, and this causes cooling on the original surface.
3) Solids can be converted to liquids by the process of sublimation. Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas state, without passing through the liquid state. Sublimation is an endothermic process that occurs at temperatures and pressures.
4) Diffusion occurs quickly in a gas than in a liquid because the space between the constituent particles in gases are higher than in liquids. Thus particles in gas possess higher kinetic energy and move with higher speeds.
5) We sweat more in the summer session. Cotton is a strong water absorber helps to absorb the sweat and introduce to the environment of evaporation. Our body takes out heat as the sweat evaporates from our body. Therefore our body loses heat and is cooled.
