Explain the following lines:
a. Anger and bitterness had preyed upon me continually for weeks, and a deep languor had succeeded this passionate struggle.

a) Helen was suffering from pain. She had a desire to see, to listen, to learn and experience things but she couldn’t . She was angry on the illness which made her suffer this. She was frustrated on waiting to be happy and joyful, someday. It broke her heart not being able to do those things before the arrival of Anne Sullivan.

b)The "light" that Helen Keller longed for was the ability to communicate with others, and to learn. Having been terribly ill when she was a toddler, she was left completely blind and deaf. In this condition, it had been seen as impossible to communicate with her.The "light" arrived in the form of a teacher, Miss Anne Mansfield Sullivan. With Sullivan's help, Keller was able to connect words that were spelled out into her hand with the objects they represented.Receiving this light, or ability to communicate, changed Keller's life in every way imaginable. In a nutshell, she was now able to be a functioning member of society once again.
