Answer:

Calamine lotions is applied on bee stings because bee stings contains formic acid which cause pain , iching and infection in our skin so to reduse the effect of acid or to prevent the spread of acid in the blood , Calamine lotions are used as they contain bases which when applied on skin reacts with formic acid to neutralise the effect of the acid resulting in the formation of salt and water.

Such type of reaction when an acid teactes with a base to give salt and water is called neutralisation reaction.

When can not only apply calamine lotion but also some soaps beacuse are also basic in nature and also baking soda because its a base. So any base applied on bee stings or ant bite will reduce the pain.

Hope it helps you!
