The soil which are found where they are formed are known as in situ.

Black soil is called regur or cotton soil because cotton is the most important crop grown here, it is formed by withering of volcanic rock.

Word laterite in Latin means brick, it is formed by intense leaching due to heavy rains.

Red soil occupy of about 3.5 lakhs sq on which is about 10.6% of total geographical area of the country.

Bangar soil is the old alluvium soil , which is coarse in texture.
