Food Science

It is the study of the physical biological and chemical make up of food. It includes all the concepts of food processing. In simple terms Food processing  is the branch of science that works to create and maintain a wholesome food supply for the common man.

Food Processing

It is the method used to transform raw materials into food through both physical and chemical means  for the consumption of humans and animals. It dates back to prehistoric era, with crude processing methods that consisted slaughtering, fermenting, sun drying, preserving with salt and different ways of cooking.

Food Technology

It is the science which deals with the various chemical process that food products undergo to make them edible and ready to market. The study of food technology is to develop new methods and system for keeping food products safe, enhance the flavor and reducing the toxins in the food.

Food Manufacturing

It is the process of taking edible raw materials and transforming them into food products that can be sold.

Food Spoilage

It is a complex process. Food deterioration during storage is a major environmental problem and a great concern for food industry. Micro organism contamination during storage and some fungi growth are largely responsible for this kind of spoilage.

Food spoilage is defined as a process which makes a product unacceptable for consumption.
