Wind pollination is also called anemophily. Almost all gymnosperms are anemophilous including grasses, sedges, and rushes. Other examples include oaks, chestnuts, alders, etc.
Wind-pollinated plants lack scent production, lack showy floral parts, reduced production of nectar, and production of pollen grains in large quantities. Pollen grains are light and non-sticky so that they can be easily transported by air currents. They possess well-exposed stamens and feathery stigma.
