Corrosion: Corrosion is processed by which iron is eaten up after reacting with air.
It forms a reddish-brown coating on the top of the iron which is a deposit of iron oxide.
Example: 2Fe + 3H2O --> Fe2O3 + 3H2
Rancidity: It is a process by which fat or fat-like substances when exposed to air, changes in smell taste and colour.
